How we work
Oxfordshire Lime was founded on a simple principle: that old buildings deserve to be looked after with the right materials. We've spent years working on period and listed properties across the county, and we've seen first-hand the damage that cement and modern materials can do to historic fabric. Everything we do is guided by that experience — slow, careful work with properly prepared lime, applied by hand, and allowed to cure at its own pace.
The right materials
We use only properly prepared lime — hot-mixed putty, natural hydraulic lime, and locally sourced aggregates. No cement, no shortcuts.
Honest advice
We'll tell you what your building actually needs, We are an honest family run company and will only recommend what we feel is necessary.
Respect for the building
Every old building has its own character and history. We try to understand that before we start work, and to leave the building in a better state than we found it — not just repaired, but properly understood.
