Our services
We offer a focused range of lime plastering and rendering services, carried out using authentic materials and time-honoured methods. We don't use cement or modern additives — only properly prepared lime putty, natural hydraulic lime, and locally sourced aggregates where possible.

Lime Plastering
Internal lime plastering to walls and ceilings, applied in two or three coats depending on the substrate. We work on lath, stone, brick, and cob, and can match existing plaster profiles and finishes where required. Lime plaster allows walls to breathe, regulates humidity, and is far kinder to old buildings than modern gypsum.

Lime Rendering
External lime render to stone, brick, and cob buildings. We use hot-mixed lime putty or natural hydraulic lime depending on the exposure and the building's requirements. All render is applied by hand in multiple coats, with each coat allowed to cure properly before the next is applied.

Lime Mortar & Repointing
Careful removal of hard cement pointing and replacement with a soft lime mortar matched to the original in colour, texture, and strength. Cement pointing is one of the most common causes of damage to older buildings — it traps moisture, causes spalling, and can crack the stone itself. Lime mortar, by contrast, is sacrificial: it weathers and can be replaced without damaging the masonry.

Conservation repairs
Targeted repairs to historic plasterwork, render, and masonry — consolidation of failing areas, patching of damaged sections, and stabilisation of at-risk fabric. We work closely with conservation officers and architects where required, and can provide written specifications and method statements for listed building consent applications.

A note on materials
We source our lime from established UK suppliers with a long track record in conservation work. Where possible we use locally sourced aggregates to match the colour and texture of the original materials.
